‘I was 3 yo when I was given a toy soldier for Xmas.

At the age of 16 I thought I had grown out of them and gave 2000 away to neigbour hood kids.

At the age of 25 I realised I had not outgrown them and started collecting again.

Today I have about 3000, 25 mm 28mm and 54 mm figures and enjoy table top gaming, dioramas and casting and painting.’

‘In the shed re-assembling 42 year old Ducati, one owner. The frame has been painted, wheels are being trued, running gear cleaned and polished, new wiring harness from UK, and new Conti mufflers direct from Italy. The engine is on the bench waiting for the other work to be completed.’

‘These are the internals of my off grid solar system. 1500kg of Edison batteries (48kw/h nominal, 24kw/h in practice) and four strings of solar panels with MPPT charge controllers, a single phase DG for those times when the sun don’t shine and the whole lot hooked up to a linux based monitor/controller from Victron (who made all those blue boxes). So, a question for all the geeks in the MB family: I find my batteries need very different management to anything the Victron engineers
envisaged when they put all this kit together. It looks like I’ll need to put together a battery management system to force the blue boxes to do charging like my batteries want. Do any of you have experience with CAN-bus systems (as used in cars these days) and could give me a bit of guidance so I might use an Arduino to tell the MPPT controllers to do what I want, rather than what those bloody Dutch engineers think I should want?
