It is hard to believe that MacroBusiness is heading into its tenth Christmas. What started off as a side project between a hand full of bloggers has turned into a full fledged independent media site.
Alas, with the Christmas and New Years period commencing, MacroBusiness will head into hibernation next week with only Links posted daily. This will give us a chance to recharge our batteries and spend time with our families.
We will return in force after the New Years Holiday on Tuesday 4 January.
To all our readers, thank you for your continued support. Enjoy your well deserved break and please stay safe.
Yours sincerely,
The MacroBusiness Team

Have a nice break guys…
Enjoy the break and have a very merry and safe Xmas everyone.
This Christmas with our hospitals experiencing overloads due to the COVID situation, it’s a good time to chuck a few clothes on before vacuuming around the cucumbers.
Wise words for any holiday season, you forgot, dill.
Whatever tickles your pickle.
(eels/barbie dolls/bottles etc etc)
All the best to you, guys. And thank you for a hugely informative year. Again ๐
Thanks for everything this year. Enjoy the break
Thanks MB team for the great site that is MB.
Have a good break folks. A Well earned rest.
Many thanks to the MB team … and the very best to all for Christmas and the New Year.
Merry Christmas guys (and commenters) – thanks for all your efforts!
All very well but did you donate to @haroldus’ Patreon?
Merry Christmas everyone.
Massive thanks to the MB team for their contribution to the Australian story. Itโs plain to see that your tireless vociferations are finally gaining traction amongst a wider audience. Your efforts are not just a perfect place to hone opinion amongst the like minded, but also an extremely handy tool for influencing and educating those who are ignorant of the often malevolent machinations of Australian political and business society. Often times the ignorance is not through lack of intelligence but through through paucity of exposure into how our society actually works . Macrobusiness is the perfect remedy for this ignorance!
Itโs not hard to imagine fellow travellers in this space such as Friendly Jordies paying close attention to the flag youโre flying.
Also a big thanks for providing such an excellent forum to hear the thoughts of so many educated, worldly and considered contributors. The forum is so good because the parameters of acceptable thought are so broad. Everyone has experienced an overly moderated comments section and felt the quease of knowing they are on the razorโs edge of patronising censorship.
And thanks to all the individuals who add their various insights , opinions and colours. Thereโs some smart and experienced crew on here with a lot of wisdom and perspective well worth reading.
Plenty of funny buggers too.
So yeah, have a good one all. Rightโฆ.time for a post lunch food coma after coming out of the Pre Christmas lunch blocks a bit strong.

Hear, hear.
Yeah, what he said, but with swear words.
Ah no, foul language please. Some dude beat me up over that yesterday, and I realised it’s time to turn over a new leaf.
Fcken.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to Dave, Leith, Chris and all the MB contributors. Australia is a better place for this forum and the community it’s inspired. ๐ฅ๐ป๐
I was gonna be a pedant but then I realised in this case “it’s” is a contraction.
So I’m glad I didn’t!
Oh, I wish you had of. Ive always been a stickler for correct grammar and apostrophe,s. I would of giving you such a pizzling in return!
In breaking news…
The Chinese made Bonamassa Lazarus Les Paul I ordered showed up and looked like a piece of sh1t. The first thing I noticed was that the plastic cover on the pickup selector switch was missing. Not a sign of good QC to have a major piece of the user interface simply Not There. Then there were 3 paint spray over runs onto the binding and a fingernail sized chip out of the fretboard at the 18th fret FFS. So after 2 seconds I said “Yeah, nah, not for me, return the deposit and sell it to somebody else please”.
After much r00ting around with various vendors I now have a 2001 Fujigen made Epiphone Elitist on the way. Gibson Pups, and electronics, Gotoh tuners and Japanese build quality. Best thing is that it has the Gibson open book headstock instead of the usual Epiphone weirdness and “Gibson” on the truss rod cover, So, an immaculate Les Paul Standard for $100 mor than the Chinese POS.
I seriously recommend making your own. Pitbull are pretty cheap and what does it matter if you chuck 300 bucks away on a failure?
You learn a lot about construction, but more about working on your own guitars.
If you do want to start, I have tonnes of fretting and nutting tools. And radius clamps for set necks.
That’s certainly struck a chord with me – go for it bloke. There’s certainly no point fretting about it.
Merry Christmas gents. As always I have appreciated your hard work. Enjoy a well deserved break.
Have a good one fellas ๐
Must be quite dispiriting that your prescriptions for a better Australia are ignored and the bought and paid for โrepresentatives of the people โ continue to take the country on the path to sh1tholeness โฆ..(yea โฆitโs a word bro โฆโฆ) โฆ..but keep up your fight โฆโฆโthe people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do โโฆโฆ..letโs hope something gives with next years electionโฆ.
Merry Christmas to all the MB crew. Thanks all for your blog contributions.
Thanks heaps MB and also to all the wise and funny commentators.
10 years into an 18mth journey eh – that’s quite impressive.
๐คฃ
The neighbours are banging on the wall, but I can’t stop laughing. Bad robot.
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas gents. Enjoy your time off. Fkn.
Peace on Earth
Good will to our fellow Earth dwellers.
We didn’t mean to do it.
We are blined to our actions .
Happy hols to the MB team and congrats on bouncing into your second decade!
Mark Twain said ‘ never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel’ and I’ve often admired how you’ve taken to task some pretty destructive and popular ‘beliefs’ on how the Strayan economy operates v how it should. Even the best rattle guns struggle to bust a nut loose sometimes but holding down the trigger is the only way it will happen!
ATB and enjoy your break!
Geez I love all yous Guys and Gals
What he said! Merry Christmas to all of the MB cognoscenti!
And to your good self. Thanks for your less official contributions, which definitely spice the place up.
What LeMon3 said. I reckon 2022 is gunna be a great year for us all btw. Especially if you keep supporting article and weekend postings as you have.

Thanks for all the hard work and saying that which the MSM cannot say.
Thanks for all the insight in the comments.
Frohe Weihnachten! ๐๐ Viel spaร! ๐ฅณโต๏ธ๐
wishing you guys a Happy Christmas and safe New year.
10 Years? Sheesh, I can remember (10 years ago) when MB used to obsess over the smallest Ebola outbreak, i couldn’t work out why MB kept putting those Ebola articles front and center. Now I know, …foresight and planning
Ditto, all the comments above. And as a reminder of how little has changed we have, from 10 long, weary years ago:

All the best to all the bestest that frequent here ๐
A real touchstone of sanity Thanks.
Thanks, MB team for all the hard work you put into this product. It does not go without notice.
Thanks legends
