A new Future of Work report, which surveyed 880 workers across 25 different industries in the United States and Europe, found that 87% of workers want the option of being able to work remotely at least part-time for the rest of their careers, and 14% wanted a fully remote schedule. By contrast, only 13% of workers want to be in the office every day:

Several recent surveys in Australia showed similar results.
A survey by professional services firm PwC showed that around three-quarters of surveyed workers want to split their work time between the home and the office.
Another survey conducted on behalf of the Property Council found that CBD-based workers favour being in the office for three days a week, with Mondays and Fridays being the least popular choices.
I’ve asked dozens of professionals whether they wanted to return to the office full time. Every single one of them have said ‘no’, with all wanting to work some type of hybrid model whereby they split time between the home and the office.
The reasons are almost always the same: time and cost savings from not having to commute and flexibility. A few people also cited cost savings from not having to pay for childcare or nannies.
Clearly, hybrid work is a permanent structural shift that will remain long after the pandemic has ended.
