BOM: Cyclone heading for Port Hedland

BOM cyclone forecast:

A Tropical Low was located at 2:00 am AWST near 11.8S 124.8E, that is 740 km north northeast of Broome and 1160 km northeast of Port Hedland and moving west southwest at 18 kilometres per hour.

The tropical low is moving towards the west southwest and is expected to gradually strengthen. It is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone during Thursday morning. On Friday, the system should continue to strengthen and adopt a more southerly track and approach the Pilbara coast. A severe coastal crossing is possible from late Friday or on Saturday along the Pilbara coast.
