Via Domain comes a day in the life of Gladys the Grub:
ICAC is hearing another tapped phone call, this time between former Wagga Wagga MP Daryl Maguire and his property developer friend Jo Alha.
In the call, Mr Maguire advises Mr Alha to write to the planning minister, Anthony Roberts, and “cc [copy] the Premier”.More
…The ICAC has turned its attention to a function held by Daryl Maguire at Parliament House.
Mr Maguire hosted a posse of business associates at a 2017 re-election fundraiser at Parliament House that was attended by Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Treasurer Dominic Perrottet.
Also on the guest list was western Sydney landowner Louise Raedler Waterhouse and her property broker William Luong. The ICAC has previously heard the dinner was a critical meeting for Mr Maguire and Mr Luong, who were quietly working together to secure the sale of the Waterhouses’ western Sydney land to Chinese property developer Country Garden.
…Daryl Maguire says he suggested property developer Jo Alha “drop in” to Premier Gladys Berejiklian’s office after they had been drinking in his own office upstairs.
“Jo wanted to meet the Premier: he said, ‘Can we go and see Gladys? Can we go and see Gladys?'” Mr Maguire recalled. Mr Alha had been showing his development model to Mr Maguire and a former chief of staff to the planning minister, Robert Vellar, over “a couple of glasses” of wine. Mr Vellar has given evidence he felt ambushed by this meeting.
She only fell in love with the wrong bloke. Pfft.
Meanwhile, yesterday’s rather convenient not to say panicked warning from Gladys the Grub that another virus outbreak is imminent has fizzled, at least for today, with a lousy six new cases:
Gladys the Grub wouldn’t use the virus to save her own skin, would she?
Perhaps we should ask Daryl for access so we can ask.
