Globalists rejoice: Bloomberg to challenge Trump in 2020

Via the NYT:

Michael R. Bloomberg is actively preparing to enter the Democratic presidential primary and is expected to file paperwork this week designating himself as a candidate in at least one state with an early filing deadline, people briefed on Mr. Bloomberg’s plans said.

Mr. Bloomberg, the former New York City mayor and billionaire businessman, has been privately weighing a bid for the White House for weeks and has not yet made a final decision on whether to run, an adviser said. But in the first sign that he is seriously moving toward a campaign, Mr. Bloomberg has dispatched staffers to Alabama to gather signatures to qualify for the primary there. Though Alabama does not hold an early primary, it has a Friday deadline for candidates to formally enter the race.

Mr. Bloomberg and his advisers called a number of prominent Democrats on Thursday to tell them he was seriously considering the race, including former Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the retired majority leader who remains a dominant power broker in the early caucus state. Aides to Mr. Bloomberg also reached out to Gov. Gina Raimondo of Rhode Island, the chair of the Democratic Governors Association.

Mr. Reid said in a brief interview that Mr. Bloomberg had not explicitly said he was running for president but that the implication of the call had been clear.

“It wasn’t just to wish me a good weekend,” Mr. Reid said.

Mr. Bloomberg has prepared to enter presidential races before, in 2016 and then earlier this year, only to pull back in the end. In those flirtations with the presidency, Mr. Bloomberg has never taken the step of filing to put his name on a state ballot.

Should Mr. Bloomberg proceed with a campaign, it could cause a seismic disruption in the Democratic race. With his immense personal wealth, centrist views and close ties to the political establishment, he would present a grave and instantaneous threat to former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., who has been struggling to raise money and assemble a ideologically moderate coalition.

In a horrible way it will be amusing to watch as the Left lines up behind Wall St and China to destroy Donald Trump.

  1. Rabidly anti-gun. Ask Beto how that worked out for him. Won’t win.

Trump’s only threat is recession otherwise 4 more years.

  2. Hahahahahaahhahahahhahaha

Half the arguments against Sanders, Clinton, Trump, and Biden are “They’re too old!”

    Nekminit 77yo Bloomberg!

  3. What a joke and look forward to his pathetic voting results. There is ZERO chance progressives, who currently hold all the energy in the Dems, will vote for the likes of Bloomberg. Best case scenario he hastens the demise of Biden. Good.

Trump is a shoe in if the DNC select Bloomberg .

Watch those China tariffs get rolled out again the moment the election is just whittled down to Trump and Bloomberg.

You could not be more wrong. Bloomberg is much, much better than all 20 of the Democrat contenders combined at the moment, He is an outsider (of a sort), he doesn’t have to raise money, he ran for mayor of New York as a Republican, and have a almost universal name recognition due to his role as mayor of New York during 911.

His chance of beating Trump is much better than Biden, Warren and Bernie, whether the Democrat establishment will let him run is another matter.

      • Just wait for those muppets to bunch each other out only for Hiliary to slide in at the last minute… know, now shes got Epstein out of the way, lol.

      • Stewie GriffinMEMBER

He might be a stronger candidate than Harris and Clinton, etc – but imho the nationalist zeitgeist that was responsible for Trump gaining power would vomit over the thought of Bloomberg replacing him.

Raise a good point as to whether the DNC will let him run though.

      • As long as US Economy keeps rockin Trump isn’t going anywhere. Bloomberg can try all he wants. He had a better chance after Trump is gone.

      • No actually – you are wrong. Amongst Democrat Bernie or Warren would wipe the floor with Bloomie. He is utterly despised outside of his New York sanctuary and left wing America is all about crushing corporates – you are seriously thinking they will fall in love with a banker over Bernie ? That is seriously delusional.

Bloombergs only reason for running would be his own personal delusions of grandeur.

That said – if there is no recession nothing will come close to Trump – he has won over the black vote and the Latina vote is now also pro-Trump as their lives, wages, and living standards are being destroyed by illegals – they stand to lose the most.

Dems just want illegals for the vote, blacks have worked this out, Latinas are on to it as well.

Basically the Dems are relying on feminists and inner urban cashed up white people who want to put themselves first in a self loathing death race.

“white people” lol – yup even white people are starting to dislike “fellow white people”

“Basically the Dems are relying on feminists and inner urban cashed up white people who want to put themselves first in a self loathing death race.”

          That sounds like our greens…..

        • Rob Gel, got to say great comments cant argue with you on those as they are pretty spot on about Bloomberg….

      • Sorry to quibble. Bloomberg became Mayor of NYC on January 1, 2002. But, Yeah, as Mayor he was a very innovative and successful, and he certainly has universal name recognition.

  5. Dem Nominee Bloomberg – Socialist hero and champion of ‘wokeness’.
Be interesting. But cant see it. Dems would have to return to Planet Earth to go Bloomberg.

  6. Bloomberg is a decrepit old super-woke New Yorker who has nothing in common with almost everybody else in the country. He would be a terrible candidate, but the sad thing (for the Dems) is that he’s probably a much better candidate than any of the others in the running apart from Tulsi Gabbard, and Ms Gabbard doesn’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell of getting the nomination.

It’s amazing to contemplate the fact that a narcissistic, philandering, thrice-married, ex-bankrupt TV reality show host is a better presidential candidate than any plausible candidate the Dems can come up with.

Given the level of the opposition, I’ll be very surprised indeed if Trump doesn’t win again in 2020.

Sam Harris keeps pushing this point too. Super woke ain’t gunna beat President Super Poke (hey! I just made that up. Good on me.)

    • Its amazing isn’t it.

The killed off the only person who could have beaten Trump last time (Bernie) and are going to kill off the only person who can do it this time (Tulsi) – they really have absolutely no clue.

  7. How historically common has it been for a president to not be endorsed by his party for contesting re-election?

    • I don’t for sure but I’ll say it’s never happened before. Presumably it could due to illness …. or death 😉

    • Remarkably, Ted Kennedy challenged Jimmy Carter in 1980 and came close to beating him (despite his being morbidly tainted by the Chappaquiddick scandal – just goes to show that the delegates were out of touch with reality).

  8. interested partyMEMBER

    Epstein connections….
Bloomberg…..He’s named in the little black book….and dead jeff ain’t talkin.

And Hilary won’t be in the running……legal problems dead ahead.

    • This is a result of China’s threat to pull all bloomberg terminals from the country, Some BBG report wrote a story criticising China.
The sheer greed of some of these billionaires has to be called out,. The very system that has allowed people like Bloomberg, Dalio, Buffet, gate etc to succedd and make billions is under threat and yet they remain silent for feat of business impact. Its a disgrace
