ABS employment in detail: Persistent labour market slack

As summarised earlier, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today released its labour force report for February, which registered a 17,500 increase in total employment and an increase in the headline unemployment rate from 5.5% to 5.6%.

In trend terms, the unemployment rate rose marginally from 5.50% to 5.52%:
