Sustainable Australia demolishes population ponzi

Sustainable Australia president, William Bourke, gave a great interview on Melbourne’s 3AW’s Drive Program with Tom Elliott, where Bourke outlined the party’s main policies, including:

  • Cutting net overseas migration (NOM) by two-thirds back to the historical average of 70,000 people a year;
  • A big increase in taxes on foreign buyers of residential real estate; and
  • Bottom-up democracy at the local level regarding the rate and type of development.

The segment, which ran for about 20 minutes, also discussed the hypocrisy of the Greens’ support for an even bigger immigration intake, despite its unambiguously bad impact on the environment (which it pretends to care about), as well as how opponents play the “race” and “xenophobia” card to shut down debate about Australia’s mass immigration settings.

Sustainable Australia was well received by callers who were in unanimous agreement that Melbourne’s population growth must slow considerably.
