Unemployment in detail: Job insecurity deepens

As summarised earlier, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today released its labour force report for February, which registered a 6,400 decrease in total employment and an increase in the headline unemployment rate to 5.9%.

In trend terms, the unemployment rate rose to 5.80%:
