Pauline Hanson’s One Nation would snare one in ten first-preference votes if a Queensland election was held now, a new poll from Essential Vision reveals. Essential’s state voting intention polls are taken regularly, but this is the first that’s asked about the re-emergence of Hanson’s political force. 700 voters surveyed in September were asked if an election was held today, which party would get their first preference vote. 37 per cent said the LNP, 35 per cent said Labor, 10 per cent backed One Nation, and 8 per cent nominated the Greens. One Nation appears to have stolen support from both major parties since the January 2015 state election, when the LNP scored 41 per cent of the primary vote, and Labor got 37.5 per cent.
Looks like the Greens walked out on their own power when they turned their backs on Pauline recently.
