Australia’s trade deficit improves in April

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today released trade data for the month of April, with Australia’s trade deficit improving to $1,579 million from $1,943 million in March.

In seasonally adjusted terms, exports rose $171 million (1%) to $26,734 million, whereas imports fell $222 million (1%) to $28,313 million, led by falling capital goods exports (-$299 million).
