Auckland housing stalls as foreigners desert

The Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) has released its house price index for October, which posted a large 3% monthly drop in the median greater Auckland house price to $748,200, with annual price growth slowing to 16.8% from 25.4% the month before:

Sales volumes in the greater Auckland region were also down by 19.4% compared to September, but were up 3.6% year-on-year:
