The Minerals Council of Australia have either slashed their advertising budget to near zero, or they overpaid for this, or they’ve given up trying to sell coal:
Selling coal is a hard thing to do in a world that needs cheaper (or any) energy especially when burning of such energy directly results in destruction of the climate.
Indeed, our worst fears were confirmed over the weekend with NASA’s highly accurate new satellite data reporting that sea levels could rise much faster than expected, with nearly 1 meter “locked in”:

Just as it’s going to take more than some slick CGI showing off coal as “sexy”, it’s still going to take a while longer to convince coals’ major sponsors – the Coalition governments around the nation – to reverse their blinker-like attitude to climate change.
Meanwhile, opportunities in renewable energy remain untapped. Go figure.
