  1. reusachtigeMEMBER

More fun than I realized. That dude should have bought some IPs instead. His face would be prettier.

  2. moderate mouse

Was it Kurt Vonnegut who said writing was sitting down at a typewriter and opening up a vein….?

All the best writing, fiction or non-fiction, is motivated by rage.

  3. ceteris paribus

We can often hear it in your words. But you’re here for the vocation, not just the job …. aren’t you?

Don’t let the bastards, including your devoted customers, get you down.

  4. Just make sure that whenever you notice the tongue starting to come out of your mouth, you stop what you’re doing, get up, and do some Tai Chi…. and possible a joint.

Some days, it’s like reading the economic equivalent of ‘A Day in the life of Ivan Denisovich’ and I suspect that’s what keeps so many coming back as your proud infantry support.

Remember to take time out to ‘sharpen the saw’.
This quote ( Solzhenitsyn) must be on your wall.

“You can resolve to live your life with integrity. Let your credo be this: Let the lie come into the world, let it even triumph. But not through me.”
Many, many thanks for carrying the torch!

  6. Some days it feels like a full-time job just reading (and throwing in a silly comment or two) – its hard to imagine how much work and talent goes into getting this level of info and insight out.

The positive contribution you guys have made to Australian politico-economic discourse is huge imho.

    • Yes, aj and all above.

Australia’s economic narrative is being conducted right here. Not in the AFR or BS or Treasury papers – here.

MB and its commentariat are a jolt at first. Fools are tolerantly corrected or chastised; insight applauded. Anyone who has spent any time on this site knows it is being watched by the entire economic apparatus of the country by the occasional insight from on high.

And it puts up with me saying:

      Don’t Buy Now!

      • I am doing very well in the sharemarket, thank you for your concern reusa. Break open another round of drinks for the resi ‘investors’ – that last i rate cut is starting to wear off.

      • And who can put a price on handsomeyness (and a fine moustache…)

Just think DC if you bought a pad in Syd for 2mil you could have made 600K on capital gains…

and lost 600K on currency falls, lost 100K on stamp duty, lost 100K on interest and 50K on dodgy tenants.

Now that’s some clever stuff from some clever speculators.

  7. You love it.

Do what you love. Know your own bone; gnaw at it, bury it, unearth it, and gnaw it still. ~ Thoreau

  8. I came to Oz 4 years ago and discovered MB about 6 months later. I like to think you have rescued me from a potential future of financial ruin. Many thanks and keep it up, the blood is not spilt in vain 😉
