Trade deficit narrowed in October

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has released trade data for the month of October, with Australia recording a seasonally-adjusted trade deficit of $1,323 million. The result beat analyst’s expectations, who had expected a trade deficit of $1.8 billion.

It was the seventh monthly trade deficit in a row and followed the $2,235 million deficit recorded in September (revised down from $2,261 million) and the $1,045 million deficit recorded in August (revised up from $1,013 million).
