Australia’s terms-of-trade hammered

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has released more data that feeds into tomorrow’s national accounts release for September.
The most important data point is the sharp deterioration in Australia’s terms-of-trade, which fell 3.5% in seasonally adjusted terms and by 3.0% in trend terms. Here are the respective charts, displayed against the long-run average:
