Is Chinese steel production already falling?

I’ve noted many times the possibility that Chinese steel production may fall this year and that current output is up only marginally on last year. Find below an interesting video below from CNBC in which Tim Murray, Managing Partner at J Capital Research argues that Chinese steel production is already falling year and year and that the iron ore price is near the bottom for now:

  1. The pig iron statistic is interesting – and needs explaining. Everything else he said doesn’t quite add up… he is totally unable to justify why prices should remain where they are. No nuance about demand or supply.
