From the AFR:

Treasury secretary Martin Parkinson has been given a stay of execution after Prime Minister Tony Abbott asked him to stay on until at least the Group of 20 leaders meeting in Brisbane in November.

…Mr Abbott rang him from Perth on Tuesday night and asked if he would stay at least until after the G20. It is unclear whether Mr Abbott now wants him to go.
