Third Ashes Test thread

Righto. Here you go…

My view. It was an Australian pitch so we did better. Chris Rogers was excellent. Shane Watson was dreadful and he’s out next test barring some miracle in the second dig. He obviously tried to play more off the back foot to counter his bus-like front pad but he only succeeded in driving his feet into a peat bog. The moment a ball was pitched at a good length going away he nicked it. His career is in trouble at this point.

Khawaja, jeez, what did he do to third umpire Kumar Dharmasena’s family?

Steve Smith was good too though he’s still very unconvincing when the pitch is unfavourable. Better than Watson though!

Clarke was great but he’s always good on flat tracks.

England were a bit wayward I thought. The conditions were ripe for swing but they were all over the shop and looked a bit too cocky. I would not be surprised to see them strike back tomorrow with more focus if the conditions are similar.

It’s a dry track so we’ll probably still lose but more respectably so.
