For those that think of renovation TV as a form of cultural and economic pollution, here’s a little schadenfreude from the Herald Sun:
A RESIDENTIAL development will overshadow The Block’s backyard, eclipsing city views from the recently renovated sunlit terraces.
A permit has been granted for three three-storey townhouses to be built on the vacant land behind the renovation TV series’ Park St property in South Melbourne. The complex will not only block views but the northerly sun shining on the outdoor entertaining areas for the lower-level apartments.
It could reduce their value by tens of thousands of dollars, throwing a spanner in the competition’s works.
