Australia slips in Deloitte global manufacturing competitiveness survey

In a surprise to nobody, Australia slipped in the this year’s global manufacturing competitiveness rankings, down from 16th to 17th. The surprise is surely that we are not last, given the way the sector is treated.
The report is long and I won’t bore you overly with its details but the key message is that there is no one formula to for manufacturing success. In fact, there are very different models with very different strengths which are all very successful.
