The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) released population data for the March quarter of 2026, highlighting the record net overseas migration (NOM) under the Albanese government since it took office in June 2022.
NOM averaged a whopping 1,106 per day over the first 3.75 years of the Albanese government’s reign, nearly double the previous two Coalition and Labor governments, and almost three times greater than the average NOM experienced under the Howard government:
