Oddly, the Murdoch press has taken the lead in curtailing free speech amid culture wars, despite its earlier strong stance against identity politics.
Its obsessed critic, Crikey, is completely silent on the end of the free speech bill. I can only assume former firebrand Eric Beecher is in a coma.
The ABC almost exclusively portrays the anti-free speech bill as a party-political struggle. This gutted institution has completely lost its sense of national interest. Now it will be illegal to discuss it anyway.
The Nine papers are indifferent.
The Guardian focuses on individual affected parties to little beneficial effect.
Only the Daily Mail shows any spirit, largely thanks to Donald Trump’s spokesperson pointing out the bill’s flaws.

I don’t know what these MSM dills are smoking, but most of their editors and journalists are about to go to jail for their pro-Palestinian and/or pro-Israeli editorial viewpoints.
Perhaps that’s what is needed to get them off their arses.
Meanwhile, I would like to register my apprehension about the Reserve Bank governor’s intervention in US policymaking.
Reserve Bank of Australia governor Michele Bullock has joined other central bankers in declaring they “stand in full solidarity” with the US Federal Reserve chairman and emphasising the importance of central bank independence, after Donald Trump escalated his attacks on Jerome Powell.
…In a statement signed by nine central bankers, including Bullock, they said Powell “has served with integrity, focused on his mandate and an unwavering commitment to the public interest”.
This is unjustly characterising MAGA Americans as lacking integrity and commitment to the public interest based on nothing but their political leaning and religious commitment to Donald Trump.
I would go further and say that all Americans in Australia will doubtless feel aggrieved and mortified that a diminutive and demonstrably corrupt central bank feels it is entitled to so demean the office of the White House.
Given that Michele Bullock is part of an organised effort to demean such Americans, she should be arrested and jailed for fifteen years without trial.
Of course, she might get away with it if she tempers her hatred with the biblical statement.
