Victoria disease finally has a cure. The state will assist you in shuffling off this mortal coil.
Voluntary assisted dying reform has passed the lower house of the Victorian Parliament to applause and embrace.
Labor and the Coalition both granted their members a conscience vote. It gave MPs the rare chance to offer – and the public a rare chance to see – thoughtful contributions and personal stories that have informed their positions. Family members and friends they watched die painfully, who have starved themselves, or who have taken the power away from their illness to choose to die on their own terms. Constituents they have sat down with.
Many were brought to tears.
I have absolutely no problem with this legislation.
What we should all wonder about is why the parliament’s only solution to the state’s problems is to assist its citizens to step off stage right (machete use OK?).
How about we reduce immigration to undo crushloading and liberate productivity?

Enabling us to slash taxes along with the bureaucracy and infrastructure costs?.

Freeing up the private sector.

Instead of feeding fat cats.

To boost income growth.

How about letting Victorians live as well as die?
