Treasurer Jim Chalmers has declared war on Australia’s poor productivity growth, which has slumped to developed-world lows.

Chalmers has finally cottoned on to the fact that the economy’s stagnant productivity will not deliver higher living standards for ordinary Australians.

In a speech to be delivered to the National Press Club in Canberra, The AFR reports that Chalmers will make reviving flatlining productivity a key priority for this term of government:
