Australians back lower immigration to solve housing crisis

Opposition leader Peter Dutton has erred badly by walking back his commitment to reduce Australia’s net overseas migration.

Two surveys have been released showing that Australians want immigration to be lowered, in part to relieve pressure on the housing market.
The latest True Issues survey by JWS Research revealed that 78% of respondents agreed that “housing access and affordability has now reached the point of being a national crisis”.
