Lobby group Universities Australia is at it again, spinning copious lies about the economic benefits of international students and the enormous costs of the Albanese government’s modest caps to enrolment numbers.

As reported in The Australian, Universities Australia claims that “the Albanese government’s crackdown on international student numbers has already cost the economy $4.3 billion and will lead to job losses”.
The lobby group claims “that Labor has overseen a 23% fall in overseas enrolments, the equivalent of 59,410 fewer students, in the past year” and that “the drop will cost the industry 14,853 jobs, with four international students supporting one position in the sector”.
