Business Council demands international student slaves

The exploitation of international students has been widespread throughout the Australian economy.

For years, we heard accounts of wage theft from international students, notably from migrant employers from the same country.

For example, according to a 2016 Senate Committee report titled A National Disgrace: The Exploitation of Temporary Work Visa Holders, international students “were consistently reported to suffer widespread exploitation in the Australian workforce”, and that “a large portion of the hours that international students worked was undocumented (and unpaid)”.
