Labor vows to flood Australia with dumbed-down university degrees

The Albanese government published the Australian Universities Accord Final Report in February, which established the following higher education attainment targets:

• By 2050, the tertiary education attainment rate in Australia will have reached a minimum of 80% of the workforce, up from 60%.
• The percentage of Australians aged 25 to 34 who possess a tertiary education is expected to rise from 45% to 55% by 2050.
• By 2050, the percentage of individuals aged 25 to 34 who possess a tertiary-level vocational or technical qualification will increase to 40%.

The report estimated that by 2050, 6.3 million additional occupations will require higher education. To achieve this objective, a significant number of students from underprivileged backgrounds will be required to graduate.
