The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) has reported that 2023 was a record year for new vehicle sales, with 1,216,780 vehicles being delivered. This represented a 12.5% increase on 2022.

While full battery electric vehicles made up 7.2% of new vehicles delivered in 2023, up from 3.1% in 2022, utes were the top three-selling vehicles.

The Ford Ranger recorded 63,356 deliveries in 2023, followed by the Toyota HiLux (61,111) and the Isuzu Ute D-Max (31,202):
