Sally Capp admits Melbourne can’t handle migrant deluge

Late last year, former Victorian executive director of the Property Council of Australia turned Melbourne Lord Mayor, Sally Capp, begged for hordes of low skilled, low-paid migrants to “get Melbourne moving again”:

“Our city is in desperate need of workers not traditionally favoured in visa program processes. Restaurant, bar and cafe owners tell me they urgently need waiters, baristas, bartenders and kitchenhands”.

“The City of Melbourne has advocated strongly for international students to receive automatic 401 temporary work visas, which will increase the labour force for our city businesses”.
