Record temporary migrants inundate Australia

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) monthly visa data shows that a record net 502,000 visa holders (excluding visitors) arrived in Australia in the year to July, with student visas accounting for 297,000 of these arrivals:

There were also “all time records set for New Zealand citizens (700,000), students (655,000) and other employment based temporary entrants (191,000)”.
