Get ready for wage-inflation scaremongering

Media scaremongering over Australian wages is about to ramp up following the latest fortnightly enterprise bargaining wage data from the Fair Work Commission.

“Average pay rises in new collective agreements have risen to a high of 4.7%, entrenching a benchmark for wages that could put pressure on the Reserve Bank’s efforts to control inflation”, The AFR’s David Marin-Guzman reports.

“The latest 174 deals lodged from August 12 to August 25, reached an average annual increase of 4.7% and extended to 63,553 employees, Fair Work Commission data released on Monday shows”.
