Transurban released traffic data showing an increase in Brisbane drivers choosing to pay to take toll roads to reduce their commute times and avoid congestion.
“Our traffic data shows that more people than ever before are using Brisbane’s toll roads”, a Transurban spokeswoman said, with nearly 65% of residents preferring driving over public transport.
The results were latched on to by Brisbane Lord Mayor, Adrian Schrinner, who said “the latest Transurban mobility trend report demonstrates why there needs to more investment in transport and road, not less”:
The primary reason why Australian city roads are becoming increasingly congested is because their populations have ballooned on the back of decades of extreme immigration:
The entire immigration-led economic system is a swindle designed to enrich capital owners like Transurban at the expense of ordinary residents:
- Cram people in so that traffic becomes chronically congested and additional roads are required.
- Build highways through public-private partnerships and charge high fees to the existing population.
- Living standards deteriorate since all you’ve done is charge people to move about when they were doing it for free before the people-stuffing.
- Politicians get to act like good economic managers when GDP rises and they do something about congestion (caused, once again, by aforementioned people-stuffing).
- Transurban and its foreign sponsors become progressively wealthier, while people become ever poorer.
- Rinse and repeat.
Transurban’s whole business strategy is based on privatising the benefits of mass immigration while socialising the costs on everyone else through massive private taxation.
The Albanese Government’s ‘Big Australia’ mass immigration strategy will only exacerbate the problem.
