Asian share markets continue to life higher, taking the positive lead from Wall Street from last night with gains across the region. The USD is giving up minor levels going into the London session as UK traders return from a long weekend with the Australian dollar lifting above the 64 cent level but still struggling to find direction.

Oil prices are again quite flat with Brent crude wanting to lift off the $84USD per barrel level but struggling to find a bid while gold is now building on to its recent gains, pushing through the $1923USD per ounce level:

Mainland Chinese share markets are seeing solid gains with the Shanghai Composite up 1.2% to close at 3135 points while in Hong Kong the Hang Seng Index did even better, closing almost 2% higher at 18485 points.

Japanese stock markets are trying to build on this recent rebound, but the Nikkei 225 only closed 0.1% higher at 32216 points while the USDJPY has been unable to clearly break free above the 146 level as it hovers near the previous session highs:

Australian stocks did well again up with the ASX200 closing 0.7% higher at 7210 points while the Australian dollar was able to break above the 64 cent level but is barely able to hold on going into the London session:

Eurostoxx and S&P futures are up 0.3% or so with the S&P500 four hourly chart showing a desire to get off the previous bottom at the mid 4300 point level after failing to push aside resistance the 4500 point area mid last week:

The economic calendar includes both German and US consumer confidence plus US house prices.
