Macro Afternoon
Risk markets are absorbing the Jackson Hole central bankster talkfest well, with Asian share markets taking the positive lead from Wall Street on Friday night with gains across the region. The USD is firming going into the London session with the Australian dollar barely holding on above the 64 cent level despite a strong local retail sales print.
Oil prices are dead flat after the weekend gap with Brent crude wanting to lift off the $84USD per barrel level while gold is still holding on to its recent gains, hovering at the $1914USD per ounce level:

Mainland Chinese share markets gapped significantly higher but have given up some of those gains with the Shanghai Composite up 1% to close at 3094 points while in Hong Kong the Hang Seng Index did the same, up 1% to 18138 points.
Japanese stock markets are in rebound mode, with the Nikkei 225 closing 1.7% higher at 32169 points while the USDJPY is trying to break free above the 146 level but it again rejecting the previous session highs:

Australian stocks are up with the ASX200 closing 0.7% higher at 7159 points while the Australian dollar is barely holding above the 64 cent level despite the solid retail sales print today:

Eurostoxx and S&P futures are up nearly 0.8% with the S&P500 four hourly chart showing a desire to get off the previous bottom at the mid 4300 point level after failing to push aside resistance the 4500 point area mid last week:

The economic calendar starts the trading week slowly with a few Treasury auctions.
