Labor opens Indian asylum seeker floodgates

In the lead-up to the pandemic, former Labor immigration spokesperson, Christina Keneally, frequently attacked the Coalition Government for allowing Australia to be flooded with record numbers of asylum seekers arriving by plane.

“If a government is serious about stopping a flow of people coming to Australia, then it would be doing something about airplane arrivals”, Keneally said in 2019.

“People-smugglers have changed their business model from boats to planes”.
