Labor’s 43% emissions reduction target a pipe dream

The Australian’s Judith Sloan argues that the federal government’s target that carbon emissions be lower by 43% by 2030 relative to 2005 is unrealistic.

Other developed economies are finding out that emissions targets are not as easy to meet as they hoped, with Germany just one example.

Germany had aimed for its emissions to be 65% lower in 2030 when compared to 1990, but nobody believes it will be achieved.
