Bring on a double-dissolution federal election

The Albanese Government’s wet lettuce Housing Australia Future Fund has been put on hold, with the Greens joining forces with the Coalition to defer further debate on the bill in the Senate until 16 October.

Special Minister of State Don Farrell warned prior to the vote that if the Senate defers the bill until October, the government will regard this a failure to pass the bill.

In turn, this would provide Labor with the first step to trigger a double-dissolution of parliament.
