Andrews, Albo play “pass the infrastructure pork”

New tensions are building between the Andrews and Albanese governments over who will foot the cost for an Airport Rail Link cost overrun, which is now anticipated to exceed $3 billion.

According to the Herald-Sun, industry and government insiders estimate that the CBD-Tullamarine link, which was recently halted owing to a review of federally supported infrastructure projects, will cost about $13 billion in total.

A project business case written in 2021 but disclosed late last year predicted a public investment of $9.2 billion to $9.8 billion.
