It is no wonder that Albo’s halo is slipping. His message, values and policies are all based on toxic double standards.
On Voice, he is blaming the media for sliding support and demanding national unity:
Anthony Albanese has suggested the media has a “responsibility” not to confuse voters about support for the voice among First Nations people, arguing that Indigenous critics are outnumbered by supporters.
…“This is something that was promised and talked about by the Howard government last century. If we don’t recognise Indigenous Australians in our constitution now, when will we?”
“This is unfinished business and I believe it will be a moment of national unity just like the apology to stolen generations was after it was opposed by some people as well for a long period of time.
The problem for Voice is not the media, it is Albo himself.
I will vote “yes” because indigenous Australians deserve recognition in their home.
But at the next election, I will vote “no” to Albo because the same respect must be accorded young Australians who find themselves homeless.
Albo is not offering unity there. Only pathetic excuses:
“We are doing our best to increase housing supply,” Albanese told reporters.
“Doing our best”. What kind of plaintive drivel is that?
Why is Albo actively marginalising youth from housing with record levels of mass immigration?
Why is Albo’s supply-side solution so inadequate? Building just 7k dwellings per year versus the 250k needed?
Why is Albo busy removing the dictum “housing is a human right” from Labor’s policy platform?
The answer is Albo is a greedy landlord. He has no moral authority to demand national unity for an indigenous home while marginalising everybody under 40 from the same.
This is why Voice is failing.
