ANZ job ads signal rising unemployment

The ANZ-Indeed Job Ads survey for April has been released with total ads falling 0.3% over the month, which follows a downwardly revised 2.7% fall in March:

Job Ads are now 7.7% lower than the September 2022 peak.

The next chart shows that the ANZ-Indeed Job Ads survey is a good leading indicator of the unemployment rate:
