Teflon Dan Andrews skirts corruption probe

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has downplayed the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission’s (IBAC) report on Operation Daintree.

The inquiry examined the state government’s decision to award public contracts to the Health Workers Union prior to the 2018 election without a competitive tender process.

IBAC’s report stopped short of finding evidence of corrupt conduct, but it concluded that Andrews’ staffers had acted against the public interest in the awarding of contracts to a union that is affiliated with Labor.
