Migration review fails to account for negatives

Amid all the glowing praise about the Albanese Government’s Migration review, Judith Sloan at The Australian is one of the few commentators (other than MB) to call it out for not considering the negatives of extreme immigration nor the wishes of the voting public.

Immigration involves both benefits and costs, argues Sloan, and it is the balance between these two that matters.

There is also the issue of who bears the benefits and the costs when determining optimal policy settings.
