Mass immigration forces Aussies into homelessness

The media is flooded with articles on Australia’s housing shortage, which is forcing people into homelessness.

The Guardian reports that Victoria’s social housing stock grows by just 74 dwellings in four years despite a 44% increase in the social housing waiting list – from about 44,000 applications in June 2018 to 64,168 in June 2022.

“The reality is, we have a crisis on our hands. In the last year alone, the number people on the priority waitlist grew by more than 3,000 families”, the Liberal opposition’s spokesperson for housing, Richard Riordan, said.
