Macro Afternoon
Asian stock markets are generally rising across the region, spurred by the latest Chinese PMI numbers which recorded a near decade high, boosting tech stock in Hong Kong and industrials across China. Local markets are a bit calmer given the double GDP and inflations today which undershot with the Australian dollar initially matching its weekly low at the 67 cent level before surging in afternoon trade. Meanwhile oil prices are advancing slightly on the latest inventory data with Brent crude lifting up through the $83USD per barrel level as gold also puts some runs on the board after a surge overnight took it past the $1830USD per ounce level:

Mainland Chinese share markets are moving higher going into the close with the Shanghai Composite up nearly 1% to break above the 3300 point barrier while the Hang Seng is up more than 3% to be well over the 20000 point level. Japanese stock markets are mixed again with the Nikkei 225 up slightly to 27497 points while the USDJPY pair remains steady at above the 136 level, holding on to its Friday night breakout:

Australian stocks are basically treading water in response to the inflation print and GDP data with the ASX200 about to close dead flat but still above the 7200 point level at 72 points. The Australian dollar touched the recent session lows just below the 67 cent level but has rebounded back to the mid level in afternoon, but is still not yet out of trouble:
