Labor’s immigration reset is ‘just a charade’

The Albanese Government’s fake migration review will reportedly recommend scrapping labour market testing, which requires employers to advertise a position for at least four weeks before employing a migrant, in favour of a modest $70,000 minimum salary floor for temporary ‘skilled’ workers.

This $70,000 threshold is well below the ACTU’s proposal for a $91,000 minimum wage floor for temporary ‘skilled’ migrants, which it took to last year’s Jobs & Skills Summit.

Former immigration department deputy secretary, Abul Rizvi, supports the changes claiming labor market testing is just a charade:
