Crashing consumer confidence portends retail apocalypse

The ANZ-Roy Morgan weekly consumer confidence index remains well and truly stuck in the gutter, with the index falling another 0.1% to just 79.9%.

It was the fourth consecutive week with confidence among the worst 12 results since the COVID outbreak in Australia, according to ANZ:
