Aussie inflation expectations ease despite Q4 shocker

Despite last week’s Q4 CPI shocker, Australian inflation expectations have eased on the back of lower petrol prices.

Roy Morgan’s monthly inflation expectations report posted a 0.5% decline in inflation expectations to 6.0% in December 2022:

This mirrors the significant fall in petrol prices in the final month of the year with the average retail price dropping by over 15 cents per litre:
