Business lobby demands unlimited fake ‘skilled’ migration

The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called on the federal government to provide a pathway to permanent residency for all temporary skilled migrants as part of its submission to the government’s review of the migration system.

With the ACCI also calling for an increase in the permanent migration intake from a record high 195,000, it states that giving all temporary skilled migrants a pathway to permanent residency would help to make Australia more globally competitive in the fight for talented workers.

“This would increase Australia’s global competitiveness in the fight for talent and ensure the best and brightest are attracted and retained. It also has a positive impact on business, reducing employee turnover and enabling businesses to plan long-term”, the ACCI’s submission says.
